Alimentarium

The food we eat tells us who we are. And who we will be tomorrow

Marie Desmartis

Curator and Head of Collections, Alimentarium

The Alimentarium is a place of knowledge and experience, boldly and creatively connecting cultures and the issues of food, both on-site and beyond its walls.

Food is the essential link that connects us to the planet, to other species, to those we love, and to our bodies. The Alimentarium cultivates this link, nurtures it, and enriches it. Through a physical, intellectual, and emotional experience, we stimulate the exploration of the senses, knowledge, and beliefs. By questioning the past, present, and future, we invite you to reflect, learn, and exchange ideas about what we eat.
